Caitlin Young and Grace Keating battled at No. 1 singles

"Florida Atlantic was the strongest team we've played this season," said Oakland head coach Heather Redshaw.
Young and Keating faught Natasha Basma and Natasha Phillips for the whole match, but lost 8-5 at No. 1 singles. The team of Demi Georgakopoulos and Brittany Baxter fell 8-2 in the other doubles match.
Despite dropping all five singles matches in straight sets, the team battled to take points in a number of sets. Both Young and Georgakopoulos fell 6-2, 6-2, while Keating battled in a 6-1, 6-3 loss at No. 2 singles.
Baxter fell 6-1, 6-1 at the fourth spot, while Caryn Kimmell played No. 5 singles and lost 6-0, 6-0. Due to injuries, Oakland was forced to forfeit the No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles matches.
The Golden Grizzlies are back in action on Saturday with a match at Cleveland State at 4 p.m.
