ROCHESTER, Mich. - The top-seeded Oakland women's soccer team (10-5-3) will face No. 2 seed Fort Wayne (10-7-1) in The Summit League Championship game on Sunday in Brookings, S.D. at Fishback Soccer Park. Game time is set for 1 p.m. ET. The Golden Grizzlies are searching for their second consecutive Summit League tournament title and NCAA berth. OU is looking to win its eighth tournament championship and become the first top seed to capture the title in eight years. The Summit League Offensive Player of the Year Kyla Kellermann scored the only goal for the Grizzlies in the semifinals off a direct kick from the top of the box. Kellermann leads the league with nine goals this season. The Summit League Defensive Player of the Year Kara Weber helped the OU defense limit Western Illinois to just five shots in the second half and all from long range. Fort Wayne is making its first-ever appearance in The Summit League Championship. The Mastodons are 10-0-1 this season when they score at least one goal. The Golden Grizzlies lost at Fort Wayne (10/20) this season, 3-2, after leading 2-0 in 28 minutes of play. Oakland is 7-2 all-time in league tournament final games and 2-2 as the top seed.
