Sophomore women's soccer player Nicole DeLuca scored two goals during the week to become the leading goal-scorer in The Summit League this season. For her efforts, she earned the distinction of being named this week's Oakland University Student-Athlete of the Week.

DeLuca scored on Friday to ensure the Golden Grizzlies earned a point in a 1-1 tie at Oral Roberts in the team's first road Summit League match of the season. DeLuca added another goal in the team's 5-0 league win over Centenary on Sunday.

A native of Clinton Township, Mich., DeLuca has now scored in six of the team's last seven matches and has tallied at least one point in seven consecutive matches. Thanks to DeLucas' streak, which has included two match-winning and two match-tying goals, the Golden Grizzlies have gone unbeaten in their last eight matches.

Oakland boasts the third best scoring offense in the nation with an average of 2.92 goals per game. DeLuca is a big factor behind that ranking 43rd in the nation with a .615 goals per game average. In addition to leading The Summit League in goals, she also has a league-best 18 points scored this season.
