Oakland Women???s Soccer Signs Local Standout




Rochester, Mich. (May 19, 2004) ???C Oakland University???s women???s soccer team has signed a local standout player to a national letter of intent to play soccer starting in the 2004 season, with head coach Nick O???Shea announcing the signing of Courtney McCracken of Farmington Hills, Michigan. ???Courtney is a very competitive player and we are very happy to have her as part of our program,??? said O???Shea. ???She is possesses the ability to create as well as score goals. She has the physical dimension that allows her to dominate opponents and tactical awareness outsmart them. We are looking forward to her coming in here and helping to strengthen our attack.??? McCraken is a forward at Marian High School where she has scored 12 goals and nine assists this season, helping the team to a 15-0 record so far. She has been a varsity player at Marian for all four years, so far totaling 60 goals and 46 assists and helping lead the Mustangs to the Catholic League title and state championship last season. In each of the last two seasons she has earned all-state, all-area, all-district and all-county honors. She is also a three-time all-Catholic League selection and was a 2003 Dream Team pick and NSCAA Adidas All-American.
