Ann Serra Lowney helped lead Oakland to a pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (GLIAC) titles and garnered All-America honors. Serra dished out 152 assists during her senior season before suffering a career-ending knee injury. The Pioneers went on to win a pair of regional championships that season and made their second appearance in the Final Four. Her 204 assists during her junior season continues to rank second all-time in school history for any single season. She continues to hold the all-time record in assists with 483. Not only did Serra shine on the offensive end for OU, she was a defensive stopper for the Pioneers and was elected to the GLIAC All-Defensive Team in 1989. She was also an All-GLIAC honoree and graduated from Oakland with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. |
