Recognized as one of the top basketball players in the history of OU women's basketball, Jennifer Golen Dempster is one of five Pioneer two-time all-Americans. Golen earned these distinguished honors her junior and senior seasons.

Golen played three seasons for the Pioneers and was named to the all-GLIAC team all three years. She was tabbed the GLIAC Player of the Week five times during her tenure with OU basketball. Golen was honored for her off-the-court work as well as she was named to the 1991-92 GLIAC all-Academic Team.

Her junior campaign may have been her most impressive. In addition to being named all-American, she was first team all-GLIAC and was runner-up for the GLIAC Player of the Year laurels. She was the MVP of the Dutch Country Classic, St. Joseph's and Grand rapids Press Tournaments and earned three GLIAC Player of the Week awards. Golen averaged 20.3 points per game overall, which ranked her 28th in the country , and she scored 19.4 points a game against GLIAC opponents. She led OU in field and free throw percentage and in steals. She scored in double-figures in all 29 games and had 14 games with 20 or more points.

The Rochester native wrapped up her incredible career by being named all-American for the second consecutive year. Golen was second on the squad with a 15.5 scoring average.

Golen is currently in the OU record books in several categories, including fifth on the OU scoring list with 1,445 points in three seasons. She is in 13 different top 10 season records and after her three-year career, her name is listed in eight top 10 records.

Golen graduated with bachelor degrees in both psychology and elementary education and she is currently a teacher. She is also an assistant basketball coach at Madonna University in Livonia. Golen and her husband John Dempster, also an OU alum, live in Rochester Hills.
