Debbie Delie was the top performer in the most successful four years ever of Oakland University basketball. Debbie garnered an amazing number of honors while guiding Oakland to a four-year record of 98-21, which included two GLIAC titles and a pair of NCAA Tournament trips, one of which ended in the final four.

Debbie was a two-time All-American, two-time All-Region, and three-time All-GLIAC honoree. As a senior she was named first team Kodak All-American, GLIAC Player of the Year, Great Lakes Regional Tournament co-MVP, outstanding player in the national quarter-final, and to the Final Four All-Tournament Team. In that five-game NCAA tournament, Debbie scored 132 points, which still stands as the most points scored in one NCAA Division II tournament.

Debbie holds school records for season and career field goal percentage, and is third or better in eight different career categories, more than any player in school history. Debbie scored 2,038 points for her career, including nine games of 30 or more. She also scored in double figures in the last 75 games of her career.

Not to be outdone off the floor, Debbie earned a prestigious NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship and was named a third-team GTE Academic All-American following her senior year. She also was a two-time Academic All-GLIAC honoree.

Debbie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from Oakland, and went on to earn a Master's degree in special education from the University of Detroit.
