ELMHURST, Ill. -- Miche'le Lipari of the Oakland men's soccer team was named Summit League Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday. It is the first time that the junior midfielder from Macomb, Mich. has won the award.
Lipari scored two goals, including the match-winner, in the Golden Grizzlies 3-0 win over New Hampshire in the season opener. Both goals came in the span of 38 seconds, and put Lipari into a tie at the top of The Summit League goal scoring list. The two goals also equaled his season total from each of his first two seasons at OU.
After beating a UNH team that went on shutout Michigan State 1-0 later in the week, Oakland continues its tough non-league schedule. The Golden Grizzlies host Cleveland State on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
