DAYTON, Ohio - Joey Tinnion continues his impressive play scoring the game-winning goal as the Oakland men's soccer team (5-2-5, 3-0-1 HL) came back from 1-0 down in the first half to defeat Wright State (3-6-1, 1-2 HL) in a Horizon League match Saturday evening at Alumni Field. "We sound like a broken record, but our men are really playing some excellent football right now," said coach Eric Pogue. "To beat a very talented Wright State team on their home field, on their Homecoming Night, after going down a goal early shows the true character and resiliency of these men. They never quit, never hung their heads, just dug their heels in and clawed their way back into the game."

Tinnion scored in the 67th minute as Gavin Hoy would give him a one-timer inside the box and he would put it in to the left side of the net. It is the fourth goal for Tinnion in the last three matches for the Golden Grizzlies.

The Raiders would score first in the opening half as Brett Elder would score his fifth goal of the season in the 35th minute as he would get the ball inside the box and put it past Lewis to the right side of the net.

With seven saves, Lewis now has 39 on the season and a 0.73 goals-against average. Wright State's Tyler Blackmer make five saves allowing two goals. OU-WSU tied for 15 shots during the match.

"We'll enjoy this win for a day and then get re-focused on a great in-state rivalry game at Michigan State on Wednesday," added Pogue. "Won't be hard to motivate our guys to play the No. 1 RPI team in the nation."

The Golden Grizzlies will be back on the pitch next weekend when they travel to Michigan State to play their second road match of a four-match road trip on Wednesday, Oct. 16 starting at 4 p.m.
