The 1986 men's soccer team posted one of the finest seasons ever in the Division II era. OU advanced all the way to the national championship game and finished the season 14-6-3. The Pioneers picked up big wins over in-state rivals Michigan State, Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan as well as treating their fans to three thrilling one goal post season wins in the NCAA Tournament against Lock Haven, Gannon and Davis and Elkins to advance to the NCAA Championship game against Seattle Pacific.
