Recognized as one of the top soccer players in the history of OU men's soccer, Earl Parris was a three-time All-Region honoree. As a three-time pick, he is one of only seven OU players to be honored at the regional level three years of his career.

The St. Augustine, Trinidad native played three seasons for head coach Gary parsons and was an integral part of all three NCAA tournament teams. In his junior year, OU advanced to the NCAA semi-finals. During his sophomore and senior seasons , OU was eliminated in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Following his career at OU, Parris played in the prestigious Senior Bowl (indoor and outdoor 1990) and went on to play professionally with the Windsor Wheels, Detroit Wheels and Detroit Neon.

In the current OU record books, Parris stands ninth in career assists with 32.

Prior to joining the OU men's soccer program, Parris attended the University of Michigan and ran track for three seasons. In 1987 he was a member of the record-setting two-mile relay team.

Other soccer career accolades include being named to the Trinidad&Tobago U18 National Team.

Parris graduated in 1992 from Oakland with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He is currently and elementary teacher in the Detroit public school system and is working on a master's degree in teaching (English major/accounting minor with a bilingual bicultural endorsement). He plans to pursue a Ph.D. degree for the year 2000.

Parris and his wife Carrol Reaser Parris, along with children N'Khia Jasmine (7) and De'Angelo DeShawn (6) live in Detroit.
