Golden Grizzlies Open League Play at Western Illinois Dec. 26, 2012
ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland (5-8, 0-0) will open Summit League play at Western Illinois (8-3, 2-0) this Thursday at 8 p.m. ET inside Western Hall. The game will air on OU's flagship station WDFN-AM (1130) with Mario Impemba (play-by-play) and Neal Ruhl (color). The Golden Grizzlies snapped a five-game road losing streak at Eastern Michigan with a 59-57 victory on Dec. 22. OU is playing 15 of its first 19 games on the road, including 4 of 5 in league play. Oakland has won three straight league openers and five of the last six. The Golden Grizzlies are 6-7 all-time in road league openers, but have won 11 straight games inside Western Hall. OU leads the all-time series with WIU, 25-5. With the victory last Saturday, 29th-year head coach Greg Kampe picked up his 495th career win. He currently is in a tie for 21st among active Division I coaches. #FightOakland
