OU's Jones Tabbed Preseason Mid-Major All-America

CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Preseason All-America Team ROCHESTER, Mich. - Senior point guard Johnathon Jones (5-11, 160) was named to the 2009-10 Preseason Mid-Major All-America Team by CollegeInsider.com on Friday. Jones, a native of Okemos, Mich., earned Mid-Major All-American honors last season after leading the country in assists with 8.1 per game. Jones was selected as The Summit League's Preseason Player of the Year by the league coaches and media. He averaged 13.3 points per game last season and broke a league record with 290 assists. Junior center Keith Benson (6-11, 221) was named to the honorable mention team after averaging 14.3 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game as a sophomore. He is a projected first round draft pick by NBAdraft.net. The Golden Grizzlies will open the regular season on Saturday against Eastern Michigan. Game time is set for 7 p.m. inside the Athletics Center O'Rena.
