Tommie McCune Transfers to Oakland|

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland basketball added its second transfer on Monday, as Tommie McCune decided to come to OU after spending one season at West Virginia, announced head coach Greg Kampe. McCune, a 6-foot-8 forward from Saginaw, Mich., was rated as one of the top high school players in the country by rivals.com.
"We are going to give this young man a second chance at basketball and at life," said Kampe. "He is a good student and did very well academically at West Virginia. He is long, athletic and should have a lot of success in our offense."
McCune played in 13 games last season for the Mountaineers and grabbed eight rebounds. He dished out four assists and averaged 4.5 minutes per game. At Saginaw High, McCune was a multiple all-state first team performer. he led his team to a state title as a freshman, including a final Associated Press High School Top 10 ranking. He averaged a double-double over his final two seasons in high school.
