Oakland Set for Road Clash with Alabama Jan. 4, 2013
ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland (7-9) will step out of conference for a tough road contest at Alabama (7-5) this Saturday inside Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The game will be televised on Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS) and ESPN3 at 4 p.m. ET. The game can be heard on WDFN-AM (1130). The Golden Grizzlies won consecutive games for the first time this season with last night's 91-79 win over Summit League newcomer Omaha. OU shot over 50 percent for the second straight contest. Oakland made a season-high 11 3-pointers in the game and tallied 10 or more steals for the fourth straight game, ending with 14. Travis Bader continues to lead the country with 65 3-pointers, while Duke Mondy has regained the national lead with 49 steals. Both players reached double figures last night with 19 and 18 points, respectively. Mondy handed out a career-high tying nine assists and posted six steals for the fourth time this season. The Golden Grizzlies are 0-4 this season against teams from power-six conferences. OU has defeated a BCS team in each of the last two seasons, hoping to make it three straight this Saturday. Oakland has wins over a BCS team in four of the last five seasons (Oregon twice, Tennessee twice).

Alabama had a 74-57 victory over Oakland on Monday night. Reggie Hamilton led Oakland (0-1) with 16 points, all in the first half. Drew Valentine had 11 points and Laval Lucas-Perry added 10 for the Golden Grizzlies.
