Kevin Williams graduated as one of the top rebounders in Oakland University basketball history and grabbed 25 or more rebounds in a single game on two different occasions. In his senior season, Williams grabbed a then school record 340 rebounds, which ranks as the third most in any single-season. That year Williams was named GLIAC Player of the Week three times and earned All-GLIAC first team accolades. The previous season, Williams grabbed 282 rebounds, averaging close to 12 rebounds per game. He continues to rank third all-time in school history in rebounds (924) and rebounding average (10.7). A two-time team captain, Williams was honored as an Outstanding Young Men of America Award and went on to work at Oakland University. He served as assistant director of OU's Project Upward Bound from 1978-86 and received the Staff/Faculty Link Award and was nominated for the AP of the Year Award. |
