KANNAPOLIS, N.C. –Former Oakland baseball player DJ Jarrad was promoted to the Class A Kannapolis Intimidators, an affiliate member of the Chicago White Sox organization, the club announced on Tuesday. The Intimidators play in the Northern Division of the South Atlantic League.

Jarrad was promoted after playing six games with the Great Falls Voyagers, the White Sox’s Advanced Rookie team, where he hit .370 with a .444 slugging percentage. The Oakland grad went 10-for-27 with a triple, four runs scored and three RBIs in his time with the Voyagers.

The power and production that Jarrad exhibited with the Voyagers is no surprise to Oakland fans. Jarrad led Oakland with 33 RBIs in his senior season, while batting .304. He hit three triples that season and finished his career with a total of five three-baggers,  ranking in the top 10 in single-season and career triples at OU.

Kannapolis is currently 3-1 in the second half of the season and is second in the SAL Northern Division standings.
