OU's Geschke Wins Model UN Award

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Senior Brett Geschke of the Oakland University baseball team was a member of the university’s award winning Model United Nations team. The team finished second at the Lake Erie Model UN Conference, Oct. 29 – Nov. 1, in Cleveland, Ohio. Geschke, who is majoring in political science, represented the Russian Federation on the UN Security Council. For his performance, he received a rating of “excellence” and was awarded the chairman’s gavel as the top delegate on the Security Council. “Brett's success and aspirations off the baseball field are a true measure of where he is heading in life.” Said head coach John Musachio. “He will be a tremendous success long after his playing days at Oakland University are over.” The conference gave the participants hand-on experience in debating diverse international issues.
