FARGO, N.D. - Robby Enslen came up with a clutch, two-out base hit in the top of the 11th inning and Russell Luxton Jr. closed the door in the bottom of the 11th to give Oakland (13-28, 8-9) a 2-1 win and a doubleheader sweep over the North Dakota State Bison (19-19, 6-7) Saturday at Newman Outdoor Field.

Kevin Korkate picked up the win in relief as the Oakland bullpen tossed four perfect innings on the heels of seven strong innings by starter Tim Koons. Koons scattered six hits while striking out five.

"Our boys showed incredible heart and grit in a hard earned victory. I could not be more proud of them," said OU coach John Musachio. "Tim Koons did not have his best stuff but showed the kind of competitor that he is and found ways to get outs. The bullpen was outstanding again- Mielock, Korkate and Luxton all answered the call. Rob Enslen came through with a big time two out clutch go ahead base hit in the 11th."

The Golden Grizzlies got on the board first when leadoff man Todd Dunham opened the game with a walk and was then advanced to second on a Mike Brosseau groundout. Dunham would later take third and ultimately score on two wild pitches by Bison starter David Ernst.

The Bison wasted little time answering however when they pushed across their lone run of the game in the bottom of the second inning when Kirk Kenneally crossed the plate on a single by John Skrbec to even the contest 1-1.

The two teams would remain deadlocked until the 11th inning when Chris Van Dyke led off with a single up the middle. Following a Jared Theisen sacrifice bunt, Trent Drumheller was summoned to pinch run. Drumheller advanced to third on a groundout, setting the stage for Robby Enslen. Enslen would not disappoint as he knocked a single into leftfield plating Drumheller and giving Oakland a 2-1 lead.

Russell Luxton Jr. then set the Bison down in order in the bottom of the 11th to preserve the win for the Golden Grizzlies.

The teams will conclude the four-game series on Sunday in Fargo.
