Goike Earns Summit League Athlete of the Week Honors

ROCHESTER, Mich. – After running a season-best mark in the 600-meter run and helping Oakland to a first-place finish in the 4x800 relay at Saturday’s Don Wright Invitational in London Ontario, senior Joe Goike has earned Summit League Athlete of the Week honors, as announced by the league office Tuesday. The Sterling Heights native finished with a time of 1:25.03 in the 600 and ran a leg on the first place 4x800 relay team that finished with a first-place mark of 7:56.13. Goike and the rest of the men’s indoor track and field team will next compete on Friday, Jan. 30 at the Triple Dual Meet in Ypsilanti, Mich. Past OU Athlete of the Week Honorees -30-
