Decator Completes Run at NCAA Regional
May 29, 2009
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Junior Jeff Decator finished 26th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.97, wrapping up action at the NCAA Mideast Regional Friday afternoon at Card Park. “What a great experience for Jeff and our coaches, and some great exposure for our young program at the national level,” said head coach Paul Rice. “Jeff had to fight through a lot of adversity this year. He transferred into OU this year and had a late jump on his training. There were a few nagging injuries for him along the way, as well. To his credit, he fought through all of that and won the league 100-meter title, giving him the chance to run at this great meet.” Decator qualified for the regional meet after setting a school, league and facility record with a first-place time of 10.59 at The Summit League Championship on May 16. “I am very proud of what he has accomplished and can't wait to see a healthy Jeff compete next year,” said Rice. -30-
