YPSILANTI, Mich. – Freshman Breanna Peabody set the record-setting tone on Friday night when she notched a second place finish in the pentathlon with 3340 points, freshman Micah Jones kicked off Saturday’s action in the field events with two school records in the high jump (five feet, two inches) and a third-place mark in the long jump (18 feet, three inches) and the 4x400-meter relay team of junior Melissa Martinez, freshman Stephanie Simone, sophomore Jenna Kempf and freshman Megan Enzor set a new record of 4:05.35 as the Oakland University women’s indoor track and field team competed at the Michigan Intercollegiate at Eastern Michigan University. Oakland finished fifth out of six teams with 23 points.

Other new school records came courtesy of freshman Emily Wickemeyer, who broke her own record in the 800 run with a time of 2:20.70, Kempf in the 400 run (1:00.33), freshman Lia Jones in the mile run (5:04.35), and junior Megan Willemsen tied her own school record in the 200 dash with a time of 26.57.

Oakland will next compete at the Akron Open on Saturday, Feb. 14.
