Entering his first year as administrative assistant for the Oakland University cross country and track and field programs is Scott Collins. He will be assisting with day-to-day activities for both programs. No stranger to the OU community, Collins is an Oakland cross country alum, who was a two-time All-GLIAC first team member andand twice named NCAA All-Great Lakes Region. In 1995, he earned All-America honors for finishing 17th overall at NCAA Division II Championship. Collins was also a teammate of head coach Paul Rice and assistant coach John Nemens during his tenure. After earning his bachelor's degree from Oakland in 1997, Collins worked as a technical recruiter and manager before serving as assistant coach to the OU's women's cross country team in 2003-05, where he mentored Summit League Athlete of the Year Kristie Kieffer in her senior season in 2003. In 2007, Collins was enshrined in the Hollie L. Lepley Hall of Honor for his accomplishments as a student-athlete. He is married to Dr. Patricia Kondratenko has two sons, Liam, four, and Nolan, 18 months. |
