Oakland's Hutton Wins Second Straight Cross Country Weekly League Honor

ELMHURST, Ill. - Oakland's Brittni Hutton captured her second consecutive Summit League Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Spartan Invitational, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. She shares this week's award with Omaha's Amanda Vorthmann.
Hutton garners her second career honor after posting a 6K-time of 21:49, the fastest league time this season. The senior finished 16th out of 309 runners at the Spartan Invitational amongst nationally and regionally ranked teams including No. 11 Michigan, No. 13 Michigan State and regionally-ranked teams: Northwestern (4th - Midwest), Ohio State (8th - Great Lakes), Miami (OH) (11th - Great Lakes) and Central Michigan (13th - Great Lakes).
Both cross country teams will be competing in two weeks when they travel to Chicago, Ill. to participate in the Loyola Invitational on Saturday Sept. 29.
