ELMHURST, Ill. - Brittni Hutton earns her first career Summit League Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors for her performance at the IPFW Invitational over the weekend, announced the league office on Tuesday. Hutton won the 5K event for her second career victory.

Hutton, a redshirt senior from Highland, Mich., won the IPFW Invitational with a time of 18:22.34 to lead Oakland as they beat Ball State, Fort Wayne and IUPUI in the race. With the victories, the OU women's cross country team cracked the Great Lakes Regional Top 15 rankings as they finished 15th in the first poll of the regular season. To open the season, Hutton won her first career race at the Golden Grizzly Invitational with a time of 14:33.7 in the 4K event.

The Golden Grizzlies will be in action this week as they travel to East Lansing, Mich. to compete in the Spartan Invitational, hosted by Michigan State on Friday at the Forest Akers Golf Course.
