Niklas Rippon garners his first career league weekly honor

ELMHURST, Ill. - Oakland's Niklas Rippon and Katelynne Hartman were named The Summit League's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their performance at the Windsor Lancers Christmas Open on Dec. 15. It is Hartman's second career award and Rippon's first career honor.

Rippon garners his first career Athlete of the Week award after winning the 60-meter hurdles at the Windsor Lancer Christmas Open with time of 8.37. The senior currently holds the league's fastest 60-meter hurdle time (8.27) this season. Hartman earns her second career Athlete of the Week honor and first of the season after finishing second in the shot put at the Windsor Lance Christmas Open with a season-best throw of 37 feet 5.5 inches.

The Golden Grizzlies next action will be on Jan. 11 as they compete in the Central Michigan Open at the Jack Skoog Indoor Track.
