Nikki Flynn wins her first career Summit League weekly honor

ELMHURST, Ill. - Oakland women's swimmer Nikki Flynn was named The Summit League's first Women's Athlete of the Week for the 2012-13 season, after her performance at the Dennis Stark Relays, announced the league office on Tuesday. This is her first weekly league award of the season.

The freshman from Saline, Mich. was a member of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:33.45) and the second-place 800 free relay team (7:47.46) as the Golden Grizzlies took on Notre Dame, Cleveland State, Illinois State and IUPUI at Rolfs Aquatic Center in Notre Dame, Ind.

The women's swimming and diving team will be in action on Saturday Oct. 27 as they host Wayne State in a dual meet in the OU Aquatic Center. The 2011-12 Summit League championship teams will be honored before the meet that begins at 1 p.m.
