Two Oakland Swimmers Set for U.S. Olympic Team Trials|

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Alex Aceino and Alyssa Busch are set to compete at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials at CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Neb. starting on Monday June 25 through Monday July 2. Swimmers from across the country will compete in the week-long event to earn spots on the U.S. Olympic and represent their country at the Olympic Games in London.
Aceino, a junior from Midlothian, Vir., earned his Olympic Trials qualifying time last summer at the USA National Long Course Championships in Palo Alto, Calif. in the 100-meter butterfly. He finished with a time of 55.25, good for a 49th-place finish in the event. Aceino is a four-time individual Summit League champion, including the three-time defending 100-yard Fly champion and earned his first Mid-Major All-American Honorable Mention selection after swimming a 48.30 in the 100-Fly at The Summit League Championships this season.
Busch, a junior from East Moline, Ill., earned her Olympic Trials qualifying time on the last day of qualification, finishing with a time of 1:03.30 in the 100-meter backstroke at the 2012 OLY Long Course Senior Challenge at the OU Aquatic Center. She is a three-time individual Summit League champion winning both the 100- and 200-yard backstrokes this season at the league meet. Busch earned her first Mid-Major All-American Honorable Mention selection after earning NCAA `B' qualifying times in both the 100- and 200-Back this season.
Busch will compete in the prelims of the 100-Back on Tuesday June 26 and Aceino will compete in the 100-Fly on Saturday June 30.
