One of the team's top freestyle swimmers, her accomplishments include winning 12 national championship titles, taking five of those in 1994 when Oakland won the national championship.

Her performance at the 1994 national championships was one of the most outstanding in NCAA history. Nagelkirk won three individual titles in the 100, 200 and 500-yard freestyle events while also placing fifth in the 50-yard freestyle. She took home two more national titles in relay events, anchoring Oakland victories in the 400 and 800-yard freestyle relays. Her individual mark of 74 points topped all competitors and spearheaded the OU women to a fifth consecutive national title and a team scoring record of 630 points.
Nagelkirk was part of two NCAA national championship teams in 1993 and 1994 and helped lead the team to a runner-up finish in both 1995 and 1996. All four years she was at Oakland, the team won the GLIAC title and she co-captained the squad in the 1995 and 1996 seasons.

Nagelkirk is one of just two female OU swimmers who have won three straight national titles in the same event, capturing the 200-yard freestyle titles from 1993-95. She also won individual titles in the 100-yard freestyle and was a part of four consecutive 400-yard freestyle relay and three 800-yard freestyle relay teams that took home national honors for Oakland. In 1993 the 400-yard freestyle relay team she was a part of set a new national record of 3:25.03.

A native of Zeeland, Michigan, Nagelkirk is a 1996 Oakland graduate with a degree in sociology.
