Lisa Guilfoyle Luczak was a swimming star at Flint Powers High School and she made an even bigger splash on the women's swimming team at Oakland University from 1988-91.

In 1989, Lisa was named team captain and an All-American in the 200-yard freestyle, the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200, 400 and 800-freestyle relays. In fact, Lisa was All-American in 1988, 1989, 1990 and 1991 and in her senior year, national champion in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle. In all, Lisa was a 24-time All-American.

Lisa led a talented team to the national championships in NCAA Division II in 1990 and 1991. The team won the 1990 championship by only four points over Cal State Northridge and did it by winning the final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay. Lisa swam the first leg, starting the relay team on its way to victory. Lisa still holds the OU records in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke.

Away from the pool, Lisa served as president of the student chapter of the Society for Human Resources from 1991-92

Lisa graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in business and earned a Master of Business Administration degree at Michigan State University. She is now Human Resources Manager for Super Steel Treating Company in Warren.
