A 24-time All-American, Ken Ehlen led Oakland to four straight national championships and back-to-back undefeated seasons in 1994 and '95, while being elected team captain for the 1996-97 season. He was the anchor for several national championship winning relays, finishing his career with 10 national titles.

Ehlen swam a leg of the 800-yard freestyle relay team that set a new NCAA record during the 1996 season. He was a member of the swim team that also set a new NCAA Championships points record and earned 24 of 27 possible All-America honors during his career. Ehlen became the program's 14th-highest point scorer at the national championships when he completed his career.

Ehlen established the fifth-fastest time in school history in the 100 freestyle and eighth-fastest time in the 200 freestyle at the end of his career. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in 1998.
