In 1992, Boyd won an individual national title, touching first in the 100-yard backstroke, helping Oakland to a third-place national finish. He also won three titles as a member of relay teams, taking two as part of the 200-yard medley relay and another in the 400-yard medley relay in 1992 that set a new national record with its winning time. An accomplished student, Boyd was twice selected as an Academic All-American and was also named to the Academic All-GLIAC team twice as well. He graduated in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in English and went on to earn a law degree from the University of Detroit. A native of Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania, Boyd is currently working as a regulatory compliance analyst in the Pittsburgh area. |
