Douglas James Allen can claim something at Oakland
University that only a handful of athletes can ... he was an NCAA Division II Swimmer of
the Year (1991). Allen, a four-year letterwinner for OU, was also tabbed the GLIAC Swimmer
of the Year in 1990.
In his four-year career, Allen was a 19-time all-American
and four-time national champion. He won three individual titles in 1991 in the 200
butterfly and 200 and 400 individual medleys. The Issaquah, Washington native was a
two-time NCAA champion in the 200 IM and set school records in the 200 butterfly and the
400 individual medleys. He is third all-time at OU in point scoring at the NCAA
Championships.
Allen, a former OU assistant swim coach, graduated from
Oakland University with a bachelors degree in communications.
Allen, a Westland resident, owns two companies -- Elite
Cleaning Services and Allen Entertainment. |
