Grizz Gang Passport Program

Take a tour of Athletics by joining the Grizz Gang Passport Program!

  • The passport program has a new twist this year! 
  • It's simple...all you need to do is bring your ID to Men's and Women's Basketball games at the O'Rena and swipe in at the student entrance.
  • Your attendance will be tracked with your student ID.
  • The more games you attend the better your chances are to win exciting prizes!
  • Note: winners will be announced at each game.  You must be in attendance to win.

Grizz Gang Special Design T-Shirt

The 2009 T-shirt Design Contest is a special feature of this year's Grizz Gang, OU's exclusive student section.

THESE SPECIAL EDITION SHIRTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT ALL OU HOME BASKETBALL GAMES. 

SHIRTS ARE $8.00.  WE HAVE A LIMITED SUPPLY FOR PURCHASE BUT WILL ORDER ADDITIONAL BASED ON STUDENT ORDERS.


 Grizz Gang-WXOU Tailgate Parties

The 2009-10 Basketball Seasons mark the launch of a new initiative and partnership by the Grizz Gang and WXOU.  These student organizations have banded together to provide the OU student body with 19 tailgate events for the 2009-10 season.  These events will take place on the Athletics Center patio, located at the front entrance to the building).  Each event will begin one hour and fifteen minutes prior to game tipoff and will include 45 minutes for food, DJ music and miscellenous games followed by 30 minutes of  a live pre-game radio show.  This new partnership has been developed to foster student-fan engagement, Athletic's team support and exciting new student activities.

Special Upcoming Events:

Thursday, February 4
OU Homecoming Pep Rally
12:00 p.m. until 1 p.m.
Oakland Center Food Court

The entire OU community and friends are invited to this kick-off event for Homecoming weekend, which will feature appearances from coaches and players from the men's and women's basketball teams. Images Dance Team, the Cheerleading Team, the OU Pep Band, and several student performance organizations will perform. 

Students will receive free giveaways including: Mardi Gras themed items, free shirts, misc. Golden Grizzlies items, food voucher coupons valid for use at the O'Rena on 2/6 and Summit League Tournament drawing numbers distributed (two winners will be announced on 2/6, one at the women's game and one at the men's game- winners will be invited to attend an all-expense paid trip to the Summit League Tournament in Sioux Falls, South Dakota March 5-10.

The Department of Athletics will present the George Wibby and the Dr. Gary Russi awards as well as induct Hollie L. Lepley Hall of Honor recipients during this event. Master of Ceremonies will be Mario Impemba, Fox sports announcer for the Detroit Tigers. Friday, February 5
Guard the Grizz/Snow Bowl

Grizz Statue located outside Recreation and Athletics Center

Take part in OU's honored tradition - Guard the Grizz - and help ensure that OU's treasured  mascot is untouched prior to the Oral Roberts game. The Snow Bowl - an intramural, flag football game featuring OU students - is also planned.

Dr. Russi will be sitting in the student section.  A drawing will be held at the Guard the Grizz event in which 6 students will be chosen to sit in his court side seats allowing them access to the Grizz Den, popcorn, beverages, etc. during the game.

Saturday, February 6
Women's and Men's Basketball Games
3:30 until 8 p.m.
O'rena Athletic Center

Gather your Grizzly spirit to cheer on the OU men's and women's basketball teams as they host Oral Roberts University. The women's game begins at 3:30 p.m. followed by the men's game at 6 p.m.  The first 100 fans at the women's game receive free admission to both games; the first 600 attendees will receive OU give-a-ways.  For ticket prices, visit www.ougrizzlies.com/tickets/oakl-tickets-m-baskbl.html

Sunday, February 7
Golden Grizzlies Homecoming 5K Run/Walk
7:30 a.m. - registration begins
9 a.m. - race starts

Put on your running (or walking) shoes and complete a fun homecoming weekend at the Golden Grizzlies Homecoming 5K Run/Walk. Early registration (before January 22) is $10 for OU students; $15 for the general public. Late registration is $15 for OU students; $20 for the general public.  Ages groups will be in 10 year increments beginning with 9 years and younger. The race begins and ends at the Athletics Center.
