OU Holds Mascot Naming Contest
OU Athletics is proud to announce the Mascot Naming Contest. OU fans, if you had the opportunity to name a new Grizz to represent OU Athletics what name would you choose? The Mascot Naming Contest will take place from Friday, November 6 through Thursday, November 12. Please email your entry to grizzfan@oakland.edu with Name the Grizz as the subject line. All contest entries will be reviewed by the Athletics Naming Committee and the winning entry will be announced at the Men's home opener on Saturday, November 14 when OU Athletics unveils a special surprise for the fans of the campus and community. The winning contestant will win a $50.00 gift card to Buffalo Wild Wings.
Grizz Gang-WXOU Tailgate Parties
The 2009-10 Basketball Seasons mark the launch of a new initiative and partnership by the Grizz Gang and WXOU. These student organizations have banded together to provide the OU student body with 19 tailgate events for the 2009-10 season. These events will take place on the Athletics Center patio, located at the front entrance to the building). Each event will begin one hour and fifteen minutes prior to game tipoff and will include 45 minutes for food, DJ music and miscellenous games followed by 30 minutes of a live pre-game radio show. This new partnership has been developed to foster student-fan engagement, Athletic's team support and exciting new student activities. Grizz Gang Passport Program
Take a tour of Athletics by joining the Grizz Gang Passport Program!
- The passport program has a new twist this year!
- It's simple...all you need to do is bring your ID to Men's and Women's Basketball games at the O'Rena and swipe in at the student entrance.
- Your attendance will be tracked with your student ID.
- The more games you attend the better your chances are to win exciting prizes!
- Note: winners will be announced at each game. You must be in attendance to win.

Grizz Gang T-Shirt Design Contest
The 2009 T-shirt Design Contest is a special feature of this year's Grizz Gang, OU's exclusive student section.
THESE SPECIAL EDITION SHIRTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT ALL OU HOME BASKETBALL GAMES. YOU CAN PICK UP YOUR SHIRT AT THE FIRST HOME GAME ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13 AS THE WOMEN TAKE ON DETROIT AT 2:00PM OR ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14 AS THE MEN KICK OFF THE SEASON VS. EASTERN MICHIGAN AT 7:00PM.
SHIRTS ARE $8.00. WE HAVE A LIMITED SUPPLY FOR PURCHASE BUT WILL ORDER ADDITIONAL BASED ON STUDENT ORDERS.

Festival of Sport
Friday, November 13 at OU Soccer Field and O'Rena
November 13 also marks the second annual OU Festival of Sports as in addition to the first women's home basketball game the Men's Soccer Team will also host the 2009 Summit League Championship in hopes of defending their title and the Volleyball team will host Southern Utah...free food and beverage will be provided for the first 200 fans in attendance at each event on the 13th so please make a day of it and come out to join the fun!
IPFW Roadtrip

Attention Grizz Gang members...the 2009 IPFW Roadtrip is just around the corner scheduled for Saturday, December 5, 2009. Free food, free transportation, free game tickets, free giveaways and free fun!!! Note...though this event is free it is still a ticketed event. See below for instructions on how you can obtain your very own trip ticket.
