Varsity O FAQs
Q. I never received a membership card or letter. How do I get one?
A. We sincerely apologize. Our records from certain years and sports are incomplete. We appreciate your patience and will work to correct any omission. Please update your profile from the Varsity O webpage and in the "Additional Comments" box, please type "Need Membership Card".
Q. How much does membership cost?
A. Membership is completely free.
Q. My membership card has an error/my name has changed. Can I get an updated card?
A. Yes. Update your profile from the Varsity O webpage and make a note of the name change in the "Additional Comments" box.
Q. I've updated my info online. When can I expect my lapel pin?
A. Due to the great response that we've had, the lapel pins are averaging about 3 weeks from the time you update your info to receiving your pin in the mail.
Q. When is the All-Sport Reunion?
A. The Varsity O All-Sport Reunion will be held on Homecoming Weekend in January of 2011. All former varsity athletes are welcome to attend. Other activities during the weekend include the Hall of Honor banquet, men's and women's basketball game, and much more! Check the Varsity O webpage for more information closer to Homecoming.
Q. If I update my information, how will it be used?
A. The information we collect will be used by the Oakland athletic department. We're trying to keep our database updated so that we can contact alumni periodically about reunions, special events, Hall of Honor, etc. We don't sell the information to 3rd parties and we don't give the information out to other alumni.
Q. I'm not listed on the All-Time Letterwinner List. How can I be added?
A. Records for some years are incomplete or non-existent. If you are not on this list or see somebody that should be, please fill out the update Alumni Athlete Profile and type "Letterwinner" in the Additional Comments" box. Make sure to include the years that you competed. You may also contact Scott MacDonald at macdona2@oakland.edu. Thank you.
