Oakland Athletic Weight Room
Oakland University boasts one of the better weight rooms in The Summit League under the direction of strength and conditioning coach Todd Wohlfeil, who enters his third season with the Golden Grizzlies. The Athletics Weight Room was designed and constructed as part of the Athletic Center in 1998. It was constructed for use by Oakland University's 18 Division I varsity teams. The 3,500 square foot weight room features a cardiovascular fitness area equipped with Star Trac equipment, Hammer Strength weight machines and free weights. The cardiovascular fitness area includes a Cardio-Theater, Star Trac treadmills, upright and recumbent stationary bikes and a Stairmaster Step Mill. Thirty-three Hammer Strength plate loaded machines, four Wynmor Husker racks, two Wynmor Power racks, a Smith machine, a dual adjustable pulley machine and a Stairmaster Gravitron are available to meet the strength training needs of Oakland University's athletes. In total, the Oakland University Athletics Center Weight Room holds over 7 tons of plates and free weights. The weight room also features a custom made Olympic Lift Platform, plyometric boxes and a Verti-Max jump Training system.
