BECOME A PART OF THE OU ATHLETICS TRADITION...

Oakland University is proud to offer a number of fan involvement opportunites at OU home athletic events.  Groups and performers are responsible for the purchase of tickets to OU Athletic events.  No additional cost is associated for an individual or group to perform or scrimmage at an OU event.  National Anthem singers will receive two complimentary tickets to each contest he/she performs at.

You Could be the Grizz (must be 18 or older to participate)

The Grizz is the official OU mascot and is a job that is not to be taken lightly and is a great honor for students interested and chosen to play this important role. The Grizz is a great opportunity for all students to show their pride in Oakland University and their support of the OU Athletics programs. All students interested in being the Grizz are considered for this regardless of year in school or graduate school. 

Students who are hired as the Grizz will receive free shoes, shirt and shorts and will be paid $30.00 per O'Rena basketball game appearance.

National Anthem Singers
OU Athletics National Anthem singers have the opportunity to perform center stage at the following OU Athletics events: Men's Basketball, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Volleyball, Baseball and Softball.

Annual Festival of Sport
Saturday, November 14, All Day, OU Soccer Field/O'Rena

Come out to join the fun for the 2nd annual Men's Soccer will host the Summit League Tournament at the OU Soccer Field (free hot chocolate and coffee to the first 200 OU fans), Women's Volleyball will defend at the O'Rena (free car magnets to the first 200 fans in attendance) followed by the opening of Men's Basketball regular season play (free autographed schedule posters to the first 250 fans in attendance). For all three events, free hotdogs, snacks and beverage will be provided for the first 500 fans to enter each event. Grizz Kidz Club Kickoff Saturday, November 14, 5:30 p.m.

Food, beverage and giveaways will be provided for parents and their Grizz Kid(z). If you would like your child to become a member of the Grizz Kidz Club, please complete the included Grizz Kidz Club application and return it with your ticket order. All Grizz Kidz Club members must purchase a season ticket to enjoy all the benefits of the Club.

IPFW Roadtrip
Saturday, December 5, 9:00am - 11:00 p.m.

Fans and OU students are invited to hop on the Grizz Gang tour bus as we head to Fort Wayne, Indiana for the 3rd annual OU Fan Roadtrip. Join the fun and support the OU men's and women's basketball teams as they take on IPFW at Memorial Coliseum. Trip includes free food, game tickets and transportation.

Summitt League Food Fight/Summitt League Game of the Week Saturday, January 2-Saturday, January 16, All Day

Join the Golden Grizzlies for the 2010 Summit League Food Fight food drive beginning on Saturday, Jan. 2, through Saturday, Jan. 16, as part of an initiative by the Summit League Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for a league-wide community service project. All fans are encouraged to help OU student athletes as they team up to fight hunger by bringing monetary donations or canned food items to the O'rena during this two week period. Donations will help OU win the 2010 Food Fight. The Summit League school to collect the largest amount of food, measured in pounds, will win the Summit League Food Fight trophy and help families in need in 2010. Celebrate the Summit League Food Fight and the Summit League Game of the Week on Saturday, January 16.

Annual Coaches vs. Cancer
Wednesday, January 13, 6:00 p.m./7:30 p.m.

OU Athletics invites you to support OU basketball and breast cancer research at the 5th Annual OU Coaches vs. Cancer Event. oin Men's Head Coach Greg Kampe, Women's Head Coach Beckie Francis and members of the OU men's and women's basketball staffs as they serve as guest grillers at bd's Mongolian Barbeque in Auburn Hills. Fans are encouraged to attend to watch our guest grillers cook up meals on a 2,000-pound, 600-degree grill. All grill tips will be donated to Coaches vs. Cancer in support of cancer research. A 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. seating will be available.

Summitt League Fall Athletic Honors Game

Come out to cheer on your Golden Grizzlies and honor OU athletes for their Summit League achievements as we honor fall sports from the 2009 seasons including men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball.

Homecoming at Oakland University Saturday, February 6

Show your Golden Grizzly pride on this special fun-filled weekend as OU celebrates the 2nd annual Golden Grizzlies Homecoming. WBCA Pink Zone Game and Cancer Survivors Day
Saturday, February 20

Come out to cheer on the Golden Grizzlies for the Pink Zone Game in support of breast cancer awareness and research. The event features a free breast cancer awareness giveaway to the first 250 fans. All fans in attendance are encouraged to support the Golden Grizzlies and breast cancer research by wearing pink attire. All breast cancer survivors will be recognized at halftime, but must rsvp to burke23@oakland.edu.

3rd Annual St. Jude/Advokate Hoops for Hope Event Saturday, February 27

Cheer OU to victory as well as support the Advokate 2010 Hoops for Hope fundraiser in support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Kate Hirschuk, a local Rochester youth who lost her battle with cancer in 2006. All event donations will benefit St. Jude children's research center.
