NCAA SELF-STUDY CERTIFICATION MINUTES OF THE FISCAL INTEGRITY SUBCOMMITTEE DECEMBER 17, 2002, 10:00 A.M. Present:
Ed Nolan, Gadis Dillon, Simon Dover, Edward Farragher, Marjorie Goodhue,
Nicholas O’Shea, Linda Switzer, Cheryl Verbruggan, Heath Senour, Jane Bentham Heath Senour, Compliance
Coordinator, reported on his responsibilities as it pertains to Operating
Principle 3.3 Established Fiscal Policies and Procedures.
He explained the procedures for official visits of prospective
student-athletes and the forms necessary before that prospect can visit the
university. July 1 is the deadline
to notify student-athletes of their scholarships.
Heath also noted that all the information along with rules and
regulations can be found in the Compliance Manual. Any recruiting expenses must
be put on an expense report with a contact evaluation log attached before it is
approved for reimbursement. Nick O’Shea shared a sample
of the comprehensive EADA report. Discussion
followed and it was decided that any significant deficiencies need to be
explained on the final report. Marjorie Goodhue was asked to
prepare a list of documents along with those responsible for a particular
document. Ed Nolan will prepare a
draft report along with Linda Switzer’s help. The next meetings of the Fiscal Integrity Subcommittee will be January 15 from 1:30-3:00 p.m. and January 28 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Both meetings will be in the Honors College Conference Room. |
