MINUTES OF THE FISCAL INTEGRITY SUBCOMMITTEE

DECEMBER 3, 2002, 1:30 P.M.

Present:          Ed Nolan, Simon Dover, Marjorie Goodhue, Tracy Huth, Nicholas O’Shea, Linda Switzer, Cheryl Verbruggan, Jane Bentham

Ed Nolan remarked on the updated timetable, which was sent to everyone, and he made particular note of the dates for the preliminary drafts of the Subcommittee reports, which are due April 2003.  Also, he mentioned that at the Steering Committee Meeting, it was noted that minutes of subcommittee meetings could be on the web site.  Vic is meeting with Geoff Upward in that regard.

Simon Dover will provide Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) survey forms from the last three years for the Committee Members.

Tracy Huth provided examples of completed Fiscal Integrity Subcommittee reports from Eastern Michigan and University of Wyoming.  Each committee member will receive these examples at the next meeting.

Discussion continued on Operating Principle 3.2.  It was determined that a spreadsheet comparing each of the specific areas in #7 by sport would be helpful.  Nick O’Shea volunteered to present a draft of a spreadsheet at the next meeting with Simon Dover and Marjorie Goodhue contributing.

Operating Principle 3.3 will be discussed at the next meeting.  Heath Senour, Compliance Coordinator, will be in attendance and provide the documentation needed to answer the self-study items.

The next meeting of the Fiscal Integrity Subcommittee is December 17, 10:00 a.m. in the Honors College Conference Room.
