NCAA SELF-STUDY CERTIFICATION

MINUTES OF THE FISCAL INTEGRITY SUBCOMMITTEE

MARCH 20, 2003, 2:00 P.M.

Present:          Ed Nolan, Gadis Dillon, Simon Dover, Marjorie Goodhue, Jack Mehl, Nicholas O’Shea, Linda Switzer, Cheryl Verbruggan, Jane Bentham

Ed Nolan updated the committee on the decision of the Steering Committee to produce a video tape to distribute to the campus cable network and also to present forums for input from the campus and community concerning the NCAA Self-Study Certification.

Discussion followed on Operating Principle 3.2.7.  Jack Mehl answered questions and the subcommittee needs to answer the questions as it pertains to the previous three years and Bo Kerin’s interpretation of “full and stable” meaning “providing a division one experience.”  Jack also mentioned that the subcommittee in their report to the administration should make recommendations for the future.

Ed Nolan asked the committee members to review the draft report and compare the answers to the questions posed on the “pink sheet” handed out by the NCAA.  He also asked the committee to look over the Compliance Review information.

The next meeting of the Fiscal Integrity Subcommittee will be Wednesday, April 2 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. in the Honors College Conference Room.
