NCAA SELF-STUDY CERTIFICATION

MINUTES OF COMPLIANCE SUBCOMMITTEE

DECEMBER 13, 2002, 10:30 A.M.

  Present:          Bill Macauley, Laura Cowham, Cindy Hermsen, Denise McGee, Henry Mittelstaedt, Heath Senour, Steve Shablin, Jane Bentham

Bill Macauley asked for a report from each of the sub subcommittees.

Hank Mittelstaedt reported that his subcommittee is looking at eligibility and each of the members has taken one of the aspects of recruiting.  Robert Johnson is looking at continuing eligibility, Hank on initial eligibility and Denise has agreed to report on transfer eligibility.  The committee is viewing eligibility rules of the NCAA, Mid-Continent Conference and university as it pertains to the self-study.  They plan to have a draft of a report in January.

Steve Shablin, Laura Cowham, Robert Stewart and Heath Senour are reviewing recruiting as it pertains to Operating Principle 1.3 and are collecting the necessary data.

Cindy Hermsen, Greg Kampe, Heath Senour and Taeko Yokoyama are reviewing Operating Principle 1.3 as pertains to Financial Aid and plan on having the testing phase of their subcommittee in January.

The next Compliance Subcommittee will be on January 23, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. in the Elliott Room of the Athletics Center.
