NCAA SELF-STUDY CERTIFICATION

MINUTES OF THE ACADEMIC INTEGRITY SUBCOMMITTEE

FEBRUARY 18, 2003, 1:00 P.M.

Present:          Michelle Piskulich, Patrick Bennett, Charles Clark, Jennifer Gilroy, Spencer Hynes, Keith Merritt, Pete Nacy, Laura Schartman, Eric Stephan, Robert Taylor, Jane Bentham

Michelle Piskulich suggested the committee members look at the Eastern Michigan self-study report as to how they answered self-study items in the Academic Integrity section.

An Athletic Department attendance policy was adopted on 1/31/03.  Michelle will forward this policy to the committee members.  There is no university attendance policy and perhaps this should be recommended in the report.  Also the Student-Athlete Advisory Council will present a university attendance policy recommendation to the Senate Athletic Committee.

Any missing reports should be e-mailed to Michelle Piskulich. 

Keith Merritt passed out information concerning academic support and will e-mail same to Michelle.  Brian Bouwman will send his information to Michelle.  Laura Schartman will provide the updates for her report including information from Pete Nacy.
