Hollie Lepley
  • Athletic Director / Coach (1959-79)

  • Is known as the founder of Oakland Athletics
  • Served as the school's first Athletic Director from 1959-72
  • Was an influential member who guided the establishment of the GLIAC
  • Developed Outdoor Athletic Facilities at OU

Corey Van Fleet
  • Athletic Director / Coach (1965-82)

  • Played a major role in the development of Oakland's Katke-Cousins Golf Course

Dr. Kenneth Whiteside
  • Sport - Men's Soccer (1973-77)

  • Helped guide OU to its first NCAA postseason appearance
  • Scored a school-record 61 goals during his career
  • Set a school record by scoring five goals in a single game

Jim Dieters
  • Sport - Baseball (1975-78)

Accolades:
  • Earned honors as a Second Team All-American
  • Drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1978
  • Was a two-time All-GLIAC
  • Held multiple career and single-season records at OU, including: hits, RBIs, batting average, doubles and home runs.

Rod Mitchell
  • Sport - Men's Swimming (1973-77)

Accolades:
  • Finished his career as a 21-time All-American
  • Helped lead the OU 400 and 800 meter free relay and 400 medley relay teams to All-American honors in all four years
  • Set the school record in the 200 and 400 IM as well as in the 100 freestyle

  • Set the individual record in the 50, 100, 200 and 500 free, as well as 100 and 200 IM amd 100 breaststroke
  • Was a member of record-setting 400 medley and 400 and 800 freestyle relay teams

  • Set the school single-season rebound record
  • Continues to rank third in Oakland history for career rebounds and rebounds per-game

Thomas Boyd

  • Became and NCAA National Champion in the 200 IM in 1978
  • Was named as an Academic All-American

Linda Hein Hatt

  • Qualified for the Division I AIAW Championship in both 1979 and 1980
  • Won two Regional Championships in the 100 buttefly
  • Held the school record in the 100 butterfly for over a decade

Judi Stiff
  • Sport - Women's Tennis (1978-79)

  • Won the GLIAC Title in both singles and doubles
  • Helped the team finish second in the GLIAC in 1978 and 1979
  • Led OU to the best single-season record in school history
  • Posted a 17-0 singles record and 33-1 overall record as a senior

  • Twice won the NCAA Division II National Championship in the 200 butterfly
  • Set the National record in the 200 butterfly at the 1980 NCAA Championship Meet
  • Was part of the 1980 Oakland team that won the NCAA Championship
