Oakland Announces Organizational Changes to Senior Staff

Adrian Kowal, Gordie Lindsay, Scott MacDonald and Elisabeth Putnam were elevated to Assistant AD.

Adrian Kowal joined the athletic staff on June 21, 2010 and was elevated to Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance on April 1, 2012. Kowal tracks Oakland University's student-athletes' eligibility as well as assisting with ensuring the department's compliance with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), The Summit League and OU rules and regulations.

Kowal joined Oakland after serving in the same position at Eastern Michigan University from September 2008 through June 2010. There he assisted in all duties of the compliance office, including providing NCAA rules interpretations to coaches and athletic staff.

Prior to joining Eastern Michigan, Kowal worked as an attorney for Logan, Huchla and Wycoff, P.C. from October 1999 to August 2008. He served as Assistant City Attorney/City Prosecutor during his time with the law firm.

Kowal earned law degrees from Wayne State University (2001) and Thomas M. Cooley Law School (1994). He graduated from DePaul University in 1989 with a political science degree.
