Scott Dunford joined Oakland in July of 2010 as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. For the previous two years he has served as the primary contact for baseball, men's and women's soccer, women's basketball and women's tennis. Prior to coming to Oakland, Dunford served as the Sports Information Director at Berry College (NAIA) in Rome, Ga. from 2006-10. There he supervised 15 student assistants, along with making sure all 22 sports were covered. He served as tournament director for several NAIA national championship events, along with serving as tournament director for the Southern States Athletic Conference championships for the following sports; Baseball, Basketball (W), Cross Country (M/W), Golf (M/W), Soccer (M/W), Tennis (M/W) and Volleyball. Before taking on SID duties at Berry College, Dunford worked as a Sports Information Intern at Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C. from 2005-06. There he was the primary contact for baseball, men's and women's cross country, women's soccer, women's swimming and diving and wrestling. He also served as the championship director for the Atlantic Sun Cross Country Championships. Dunford also worked in the Georgia Tech Athletic Communications office in 2005, where he assisted with men's and women's track and field. He also helped with the NCAA Atlanta Baseball Regional and Super Regional. A 2004 graduate of Berry College, Dunford was a four-year letterwinner in soccer for the Vikings. There he helped lead Berry to three NAIA national tournaments and two Final Four appearances. Dunford resides in Auburn Hills. |
