One of the top players on the OU squad over the course of his four-year career, Mike Dodd was an all-region selection as a senior after earning First Team All-Mid-Continent Conference honors his only year playing in the league, and was also named to the all-tournament team. Dodd helped lead the team to the national title game in 1996, where OU's record setting defense posted seven consecutive shutouts, 738 consecutive minutes without giving up a goal and 14 total shutouts. Dodd garnered All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors during his sophomore season. He started in 68 of 70 games during his career and participated in the Senior Bowl. Upon completion of his career at Oakland, Dodd was invited to participate in the Major League Soccer combine, where teams evaluate prospective draftees. He was drafted No. 2 by Detroit in the NPSL and No. 16 by Toronto in United Soccer League. Dodd graduated from Oakland in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing. |
