Oakland Announces Additions to Support Staff|

ROCHESTER, Mich.-- The Oakland Athletic Department announced the addition of Tammy Mires and John Cebelak to the Athletic Department staff on Saturday. Mires will be the Coordinator for Marketing and Promotions, while Cebelak is the Coordinator for Compliance.
In her role at Oakland Mires will be in charge of in-game presentation and group ticket sales. She will also work as a liaisson with the Oakland cheerleading and dance squads.
Mires comes to Oakland after spending over 15 years at Palace Sports & Entertainment in marketing and sales. She was the top salesperson eight years in a row for Detroit Pistons games and was named Group Sales Employee of the year four times.
"Tammy was the leading Group Sales person for the past eight seasons at PS&E and we are very lucky to have her," said Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions Tim Dameron. "Her innovative ideas and fan-first attitude fits in perfectly with our department."
In her roles at PS&E she was responsible for group ticket or sponsorship agreements for the NBA, WNBA, IHL, DTE Energy Music Theater, Meadow Brook Music Festival and Pine Knob Music Theater. She also coordinated the Palace Classic Pom/Dance Championship and worked on all major group events the last two years.
A native of Clarkston, Mich., Mires earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in Marketing from Lake Superior State.
Cebelak will assist the Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance by handling all matters of maintaining NCAA and Summit League compliance for Oakland's 18 varsity athletic programs.
"I am very pleased and excited to welcome John as the newest member of the OU compliance office," said Kowal. "His addition to the staff will allow the compliance office to become more efficient in serving the Oakland Athletic Department, student-athletes and the institution as a whole, making certain we continue adhering to all the requirements of the NCAA."
Cebelak comes to Oakland after working at the Compliance Coordinator at SUNY-Albany, where he assisted in all facets of the school's compliance efforts with both the NCAA and America East Conference. He also has experience working in the compliance offices at Medaille and Canisius, where he worked as an intern and graduate assistant respectively.
A native of Holland, Mich. Cebelak holds a bachelor's degree in economics with a concentration in media studies from Kalamazoo College, where he competed on the varsity swim team. He also holds a master's in sports administration from Canisius.
