| Jack McCloskey has only been
associated with the Oakland University athletic program for a few years, but during that
time he has made tremendous contributions. As a general manager of the Detroit Pistons,
jack has had a large impact on the Oakland athletic program through his work with the
Community Athletic Committee, and especially on the sports celebrity roast series. The
roast, a fundraiser for the mens basketball program, was Jacks idea and he
donated the services and time of Piston great, Isiah Thomas, for the initial roast. In
addition, he is one of the primary ticket sellers for the event, which has raised almost
$20,000 a year for the past three years. In addition
to his Community Athletic Committee work, he has been a great help to our intercollegiate
athletic program in various consultations as well as in the recruitment of prospective
student-athletes.
The long-time coach and NBA executive is married and makes
his home in West Bloomfield with his wife, Leslie.
The athletic department and the entire community have
benefitted from the work and presence of this outstanding individual. |
