Morris Lupenec was one of the most dynamic soccer players ever at Oakland. His goal-scoring prowness has earned him a spot in the OU hall of Honor.

Morris shares the school single-season record for goals (20) and points (47)with current Hall of Honor member Ken Whiteside. He is also second on OU’s career listing in goals, assists and points. He appears on the school’s one-season top ten list for goals and points three times, and on the assist list twice. His six goals in OU’s 9-1 win over Toledo in 1981 have stood as a school record for almost 10 years. Morris earned All-Region honors in 1980 and 1983. Following his final season at Oakland he appeared in soccer’s version of the senior bowl. He scored a goal for the West team’s 4-0 win over the East team.

Morris is still involved in Oakland soccer as an assistant coach with the Pioneer program. He also serves as the co-director of the Michigan Soccer School of Excellence and as a referee coordinator at Square Lake Indoor Soccer. An Olympic Development coach, Morris holds a United States Soccer Federation B License. Also a successful youth and high school coach, Morris is completing his studies towards his masters degree in elementary education.

A third grade teacher in the Hazel Park Schools, Morris and his wife Diane reside in Sterling Heights. They are expecting their first child in April.
