| Jim Dieters set a standard for
excellence in Oakland Universitys baseball program. This former baseball great holds
almost evert important offensive record at Oakland University. A versatile player, Jim holds Oakland Universitys single-season marks for
games (54), hits (64), home runs (11), total bases (111) and runs batted in
(64). In his career, Jim set records in games played (151) , at-bats ( 448), hits (157),
doubles (36), home runs (24), runs batted in (134) and batting average (.351). Jim, who
also played in the outstanding Cape Cod Summer League while a player at Oakland, was
All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in 1977 and 1978, and was a second
team All-American at third base in 1978.
Jim was drafted and played in the St. Louis Cardinals
Organization from 1978-80. |
